This is an initiative from the Government of Nepal to restore the Pashmina industry to its former glory days.  This is quite a logical step for them Nepalese Government to take as pashmina and other hand woven items were the third largest export for the country and was a good source of revenue for the country.

In order to obtain the “Chyangra Pashmina Trademark Label”, the pashmina suppliers from Nepal have to obtain those trademark labels if their products comply with the quality and the standard set by the government.
